Built by farmers. Engineered for farms.

R3 Robotics was founded in Quebec, Canada in 2018 — not in a lab, but inside a real commercial mushroom farm.

Where it all started.

2018

Founded

Most agricultural robotics companies are built by engineers who study farming from the outside. R3 was different from day one. Our company was co-founded by a commercial mushroom farmer and engineer who knew firsthand what the industry needed — because he lived it every day. That origin shapes everything we build. Every product R3 has developed was designed around the realities of real farm operations — not lab conditions, not theoretical use cases. Real grow rooms, real flushes, real harvests.

How we build.

RoboticsElectricalMechanicalSoftwareAI

R3 brings together a multidisciplinary team of engineers — all working toward one goal: automation that actually works on a real farm. We don't design in isolation. Every system we build is developed, tested, and refined at working commercial mushroom farms alongside the growers who use them. That means when our technology reaches your farm, it's already been proven in production — not just in a demo.

Seven years in the making.

2018

R3 Robotics founded in Montreal, Quebec. Picker Robot development begins inside a working commercial mushroom farm.

2020

Robotics team expands. Multiple generations of vision systems, grippers, and robot designs developed and tested.

2022

AI Growing System development begins, trained on years of real commercial farm data.

2023

AI and machine learning capabilities expand. Yield prediction and disease detection models begin production testing.

2024

Farm Management System development begins. R3 is now building all three pillars of the complete mushroom farm platform.

2025

Farm Management System completed and live in production.

2026

Picker Robot and AI Growing System completed. R3 becomes the first company to offer a fully integrated automation platform built exclusively for commercial mushroom farms.

Who we work with.

R3 Robotics develops its technology in close partnership with leading institutions and real commercial farms — integral to developing, testing, and refining every R3 product in real production environments.

Their input isn't a formality — it's built into how we design everything.

Where we're going.

R3 was built to solve the hardest problems in commercial mushroom farming — labor shortages, inconsistent growing conditions, and fragmented farm management. Our mission going forward is to make the fully autonomous mushroom farm a reality for commercial growers everywhere — and eventually to bring the same integrated approach to other high-value crops around the world.
